Dear Colleagues, We are here
teachers of all kinds of schools, from elementary to university [...]. We are gathered here in this conference which is entitled to the defense of the school. Why we defend the school? Perhaps the school is in danger? What is the school that we defend? What is the danger that hangs over the school that we are defending? Can you come immediately to mind that we are gathered to defend the secular school. It is also a bit 'true and was told this morning. But this is not all, there is something higher. And there is another danger to be overcome by discouragement. But we must not be overcome by discouragement. You see, it was rightly said that whoever won the war of 1918 was the Italian school, because those boys, whose bodies are still on the Carso, came out of our schools and our colleges and our universities. But look also at the Liberation and Resistance what happened. It happened the same. There were professors and teachers who have given wonderful examples, from prison to martyrdom. A teacher who for many years serenely facing jail fascist is here among us. And all of us, older teachers have a few names in the heart of our students who were able to withstand the torture, who gave blood for the freedom of Italy. Think of these guys that came out of our schools and our thinking about them, do not despair of the future. We are faithful to the Resistance. We must, friends, schools continue to defend the strength and continuity of the moral conscience

But look also at the Liberation and Resistance what happened. It happened the same. There were professors and teachers who have given wonderful examples, from prison to martyrdom. A teacher who for many years serenely facing jail fascist is here among us. And all of us, older teachers have a few names in the heart of our students who were able to withstand the torture, who gave blood for the freedom of Italy. In fact, after a fantastic dinner, dinner, a hike to the summit of Pizzo dei Tre Signori.
But first things first.
Saturday we are in 23 to Introbio and start percorerre Val Biandino: in an hour and a half, with some fog and clouds, we arrive at the Refuge Tavecchia (the 24th after he left ... and came in first mountain bike!) . At
evening, the friendly manager starts to tell us that the menu is "what ghe "..... note: there's the first two (with extra portions) three seconds, polenta, cheese, pastries and ... Birolli, of course, with wine (a bit 'of water) and finally coffee and coffee kills!
Not bad for a dinner at the refuge at 1500 meters in the middle of the Alps in Lombardy.

itineario winds along the beautiful Val Biandino to the shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, then we get up to Rifugio Santa Rita. From there it follows a nice ridge to the summit of the Three Ladies, reached in less than 4 hours before departure.
Clouds, meanwhile, follow us, getting up: when we begin the descent, we are immediately immersed in fog. Too bad! we missed the views of the Lake Trail and Cardinal del Sasso.
The trip is then "transited," yet the Refuge Tavecchia ... just for a quick snack.
Thus ended the last outing of the 2010 CAO: achieving one of the most classic climbs in our area and a popular local festival.

The walking season ended with a trip not very difficult, but very pleasant and full of emotion. Immediately

As per tradition of the Alpine passes, joints Lukmanierpass we are greeted by an icy wind, so cold that seeing the Lake St. Mary I think of being on the coasts of the North Sea.
Fortunately the sun during the day smooth feel its warmth, and the price (the presence of wind) is more than acceptable.
The separation between short and long tour takes place almost immediately. The
clear day we can fully appreciate the idyllic scenery that occur around us 360 degrees: snow-capped tops of the sweet profile and a succession of streams and rivers that reach their apex with the lakes and Tom Ritom. The long record
around some ailment among its members, but everything remains under control.
For many participants, the last part of the trip is done with the funicular that Piora-Piotta with its slope of 87% is one of the steepest in Europe (perhaps second only to that of Lake Gelmer). How
always returns to coach is a kaleidoscope of activities: those who talk, those who sleep, who is out looking for money ... nothing new under the sun!

Riding in the Bernese Oberland, 4 four thousand in four days
To celebrate the 125th Anniversary with CAO, the mountaineering group has organized and scored a wonderful route climbing in an area of \u200b\u200bthe most famous of the Alps.
The idea is good, we like, and arises from the desire to share the mountains and celebrate the 125th anniversary of the CAO. Paths of snow and ice, crossing for routes of rare beauty, conquest of peaks never predictable and often guarded by sentinels of clouds, wind and snow. So let's start at the end of July to the Bernese Oberland: Andrew, Matthew, Michael, Stephen and I, perhaps even to measure the degree of our understanding, our desire to stay together and overcome their difficulties.
We meet in the morning of Saturday, July 31 to replace a cable car from Fiesch the first slopes of the mountains are still green until Fiescheralp, close to the Valais, bordering to the south of the eternal ice Oberland. The departure is not the fastest and also the first ascent of the slopes of snow occurs with leisurely pace, towards the top of Grunegghorn (3787mt) and follow the top of the Gross Gruenhorn (4044mt), our first 4000 summits between the Bernese. This crossing would give us the opportunity to get both Hinten (4025mt) and the Gross Fiescherhorn (4049mt), two beautiful peaks over 4000 meters, and then down towards the Fieschersattel Monch. It will reveal a beautiful climb, including reflections of ice and snow forms, again with Matt and Stephanie to beat the track up to the slopes dell'Hinten Fiescherhorn In short, given the weather and the snow fell, no one had beaten track in the days before rising from Finsteraarhorn Hütte. Exhausted but happy, we expect excellent hospitality and a big dinner, thanks to the staff of the refuge, which makes us forget the lack of comfort for a shelter that is just above 3600 meters.
Start the day on August 5 surrounded by a snowstorm that have raged since last evening. We will rest only in the late morning of August 6, but now, for all those attending the retreat, the games were done and go down was the decision of all. Only an area of \u200b\u200bhalf a day in fact stop a disturbance would be back the weekend. We leave behind the ability to climb mountains very beautiful, but those, as they say in these parts, they are always there waiting.
Among the last to leave the Monchjochhutte the morning of August 6, we still confused by the festivities of the night, prolungatosi until morning. A huge thanks to the managers of the refuge and in particular to Cedric, that with a step on the snow to the Jungfraujoch has avoided sinking into the snow for a good two hours' walk.
